Reiki Healing
Reiki is a Japanese energy-healing practice that involves the gentle laying of hands or hovering of hands over the body. It's more than just a healing technique, it’s a way of connecting with the flow of universal life energy and is an energetic bridge between the physical body, the emotions, the mind, and the soul.
The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words:
-
Rei → universal, spiritual, higher power
-
Ki → life energy (similar to Chi in Chinese or Prana in Indian traditions)
As a practitioner we're not healing you but we're channelling the universal energy through us. There's no religious connection but Reiki can be seen as a way of aligning with the divine, whatever that means to you (God, Source, the Universe, Spirit).
Reiki works with the seven main chakras/energy centres that influence our physical health, emotions, and spiritual growth:
-
Root Chakra – grounding and stability
-
Sacral Chakra – creativity and emotions
-
Solar Plexus Chakra – confidence and willpower
-
Heart Chakra – love and compassion
-
Throat Chakra – truth and expression
-
Third Eye Chakra – intuition and clarity
-
Crown Chakra – spiritual connection

Reiki FAQ's
How many treatments am I likely to need?
This depends on what you're hoping for from Reiki. As a natural healing method it’s good to allow plenty of time for Reiki to have an effect, so a series of treatments is recommended, but you’ll feel the benefits from your very first session.
What does a Reiki Treatment feel like?
Reiki is highly subjective and can feel different for everyone. People typically report feeling deep relaxation, warmth, coldness, tingling, pulsations on the body as well as, seeing colours, emotions and visuals. Some people may feel nothing which is normal as well, however, the Reiki is still received and will work for them. I believe the best way to understand Reiki is to experience it with openness and without fear.
How does Reiki work remotely?
In spiritual traditions energy isn’t limited by time or space. Think of it like the air you breathe, you can’t see it, but you know it’s there. As practitioners we use meditation, visualisation, and sacred Reiki symbols to connect to you and since Reiki works with the subtle energy field (aura and chakras), healing can occur whether you're in the same room or across the world.
Many people receiving distance Reiki report sensations similar to in-person sessions. In my experience distant healing is just as amazing, if not more powerful, as having a face-to-face treatment.
